If you are looking for a place to get away from the fast pace "out there", short or long-term, this may be it. The 3000+ sq.ft. home was built in the Southwest style-adobe, large timbers,vigas & latillas. It is nestled into the edge of the forest on a mesa (Llano de la Llegua) overlooking the quiet Penasco valley. Jicarita Peak ,at just over 13,000 ft, and often snowcapped, towers above the entire area. The mesa is primarily a hay producing area of small irrigated pastures. The 70 acres, the house sits on, has 25 acres of timothy hay and red clover. Six ski resorts within 60 miles, including Taos,Red River & Angel Fire. The Carson National Forest boundary is 1 mile east, and the Pecos Wilderness is 4 miles further into the mountains, making this a horse riding heaven. The Espanola Valley, with it's extraordinary views of the Jemez & Sangre De Cristo Mountains, desert bluffs and the Rio Grande along with several Indian pueblos is 30 miles in the other direction. Views are breathtaking. The 2 separate buildings consist of a casita & a multipurpose building. This has been used as a shop,studio,gallery and barn at various times. Approx 600 sqft carport attached. The south facing windows provide solar gain. There are 4 ponds & 4 cisterns.
